Red (they/them) is a graduate student in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science, studying paleoclimatology and organic geochemistry. Their research centers on understanding long-term climate trends in the South-East Pacific, as well as uncovering past entanglements between climate change and human migration. As part of the EJCJC Network, Red aims to ensure that all students at Columbia are able to easily access environmental justice resources, such as classes, workshops, clubs, and readings, in order to incorporate EJ into their own work.
Red received their B.A. from Columbia in May of 2022, graduating summa cum laude. Outside of classes, they are a long-standing member of WKCR FM-NY, Columbia's student-run radio station.
