Paul Gallay (CSUD), Annel Hernandez (SIPA) and Eddie Bautista (NYC Environmental Justice Alliance) have co-authored a new blog "Teaming Up for Coastal Resilience and Climate Justice in NYC" where they discuss the aims of the Resilient Coastal Communities Project and discuss why careful partnering with environmental justice communities is fundamental to addressing coastal resiliency challenges in New York City. CSUD and NYC Environmental Justice Alliance have received one of the Climate School's DEIA grants to systematically interview environmental justice advocates across the city in different vulnerable neighborhoods about their needs and to gain their insights. This work will help point the way to coastal resiliency planning processes that address the concerns and needs of these communities.
