Jae Kim

Student Affiliates

Jae Kim graduated with a master's in Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, studying urban planning with a concentration on urban analytics and built environment. With a deep-rooted interest in sustainable transportation, Jae's focus lies in the data-driven analysis and its application to foster inclusivity and sustainable urban mobility. By emphasizing the importance of diverse community benefits, he's working on research on the role of mobility technology/public transit in shaping age-friendly and sustainable urban futures. Throughout his academic journey, Jae has been involved in a multitude of research projects concerning sustainability and mobility, with his work spanning cities like Barcelona, Honolulu, New York, and Seoul. Before his time at Columbia, Jae earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, complemented by minors in City and Regional Planning and Data Science. At CSUD, Jae has worked as a research associate on the Partnership for Research on Informal and Shared Mobility and remains a student affiliate while working on his PhD at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
